It looks like Gran Turismo isn’t the only video game title Sony will be backing, as the Grand Theft Auto alternative, Watch_Dogs will be receiving an official film as well.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures announced their partnership with Sony Pictures and New Regency for a future Watch_Dogs movie to be produced by Columbia Pictures (subsidiary of Sony Pictures). Ubisoft Motion Pictures already has two films in development being Splinter Cell starring Tom Hardy and Assassin’s Creed starring Michael Fassbender.
Ubisoft is hoping Watch_Dog receives the same notoriety and house hold name status its AC and Splinter Cell currently hold. Beforehand, we’ll see a multiplatform release of the open world stealth game, but the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions will have exclusive content other platforms wont.
