RELATED: PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One: A Look Into Next Generation’s Console Wars
Moments ago at PlayStation’s lengthy GameCom 2013 conference, Sony has revealed the official launch date for the PlayStation 4. On Friday November 15th, the PlayStation 4 will launch first in North America at $399. Two weeks later on November 29th, the European audience will be receiving the PlayStation 4 at a price of their own at £349.
In related news, Microsoft opted not to reveal the Xbox One date and see what Sony’s first move would be. We’re “expecting” to see the Xbox One’s launch on November 5th, to release with Call of Duty: Ghosts. For now, Sony is positioned this year to have the biggest holiday release due to the $399 price ($100 less than its Xbox One competitor) and Nintendo’s lack of main AAA releases.
Sony’s home audience of Japan hasn’t seen a release date announcement, which we’re hoping the loyalist receive the console before 2014. For now, North America and Europe can start pre-ordering now; which is outselling the Xbox One at a rapid rate, before they’re all gone. Stay tuned for the official launch lineup in the coming weeks.
