Titanfall Beta Goes Public

Respawn Entertainment’s debut title, Titanfall has surpassed our expectations after enjoying a few hours with the BETA this weekend. The mech-style / first-person combo shooter has been the primary attention for the gaming world in the last 72 hours.

After social media and forums conversation mostly came to a conclusion this was the first must have game on Xbox One, gamers went into frenzy over obtaining beta keys, that were gone in the first few hours of signup period. We personally witnessed somebody purchase a beta key for $87 dollars, along with codes currently being sold up to $650.

We’re sure Microsoft, Electronic Arts and most of all Respawn felt overwhelmed by the high demand. With this being the first AAA-title for the Xbox One’s limited launch library, they may have a potential Killer App on their hands to further console sales (at least in North America).

You can check after the jump on directions to download the BETA; and then look for the retail release of Titanfall coming to Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 11.

To download the beta, sign in to your Xbox One and head to the “New Game Demos” section of the Game Store and it will appear there. You can also say “Xbox Bing” then “Show me game demos”. Also, in some Xbox Live regions you’ll see a “Join The Titanfall Beta” link on the home page of Xbox One, next to My Game and Apps.

Note: It may take some time until all Xbox One’s can see the demo in the store. Some members may see it before others. Until then just relax and rest assured everyone will see it soon.
