PlayStation 4 continues domination with highest hardware and software sales in July.

The official July NPD sales for North America have arrived and continue a similar trend from previous months. PlayStation 4 finishes atop of the console races, outselling Xbox One and Nintendo Wii U for the seventh consecutive month; which sales have surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide to consumers. This marks the fastest hardware sales in the history of the PlayStation brand, which will continue to grow with the some AAA-titles arriving this fall.

Microsoft saw another double increase in sales for Xbox One following its recent price drop, but may find themselves continuing to trail Sony leading up to the holidays. Sony’s next-gen re-master for The Last of Us finished as of the highest selling game for the month. Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 had another successful outing, now surpassing 1 million units sold in America.

Continue after the jump for the latest report of gaming sales from the NPD Group.
