Windows Media Center is finally being replaced this fall!

PlayStation 4 may have DVR for subscribers to their streaming Vue TV service, but Microsoft is looking to allow user to record any live TV from cable and satellite providers later this year. With the pending launch of Windows 10 set to hit the Xbox One console this July and DirectX 12 looking to change the landscape of gaming later in the year, Microsoft also has plans of finally burying Windows Media Center. Take a brief look at what’s neither confirming nor denying below – for legal reasons.

Of course, many Media Center fans actually use the product to record and watch TV shows via Media Center PCs in the living room. Microsoft’s solution for this need will apparently be the Xbox One, though the console currently only provides live TV watching, but not recording. My sources tell me that will change, and most probably this year, to include TV recording.
