Most of all of us have ordered from it. Some might even have the Prime membership for that 2-day delivery. Who are we talking about? The one and only Amazon.

60 Minutes visited Jeff Bezos and took a tour of various warehouses Amazon owns throughout the country, to get a better look at the inner workings of the company and their ordering process from start to finish. Plus much more.

Amazon has single-handedly changed the game, reinventing themselves from an online bookseller to a powerhouse of online shopping. They have succeeded in eliminating book stores like Barnes & Noble and Borders, now offer a wide range of items and have now dabbled in the world of same-day grocery delivery, which has been tested in areas like Seattle and Los Angeles. Not to mention the amount of “cloud” they own on the Internet. They host servers for the CIA, Netflix and a whole lot more.

So what’s next for Amazon? Welcome to the future with Amazon PrimeAir.

Still in the infant stages and not yet ready to launch for some years, Amazon PrimeAir is poised to send drones for delivery to your doorstep. The goal is to deliver packages to customers within a half hour of placing their order. It might sound like something out of a movie, but this technology is almost around the corner. Especially if you live in a bigger city. Unfortunately, it will not apply to bigger items, as the drone can only carry up to 5lbs. For now, we can only marvel at what may soon be, until it becomes a reality.

With their hands now in upscale fashion, groceries, and original TV series (via their Kindle Fire HD) and plenty of more in the works, Amazon can ultimately end up being your one stop shop for anything you want. They want to sell everything to everyone.

They’re well on their way.
