A Child’s Play TV Series in the Works from Original Writer

Good guy friend til’ the end?

This week, Bloody Disgusting sat down with the original Child’s Play creator Don Macini and producer David Kirschner. According to the two, they are officially readying a TV series for the franchise, which will serve as a continuation of where the Cult of Chucky left off.

Kirschner said, “We plan to use Child’s Play in the title. We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It’s going to be very creepy.” Unfortunately, the show will not feature an entire reboot, which we thought would be the best choice for long-time viewers like ourselves.

He continued on saying, “I don’t think there’s a relationship that lasted this long. I’m incredibly excited about the series and to explore a world in which we’ve never done before. Don has taken the franchise in a wonderfully frightening direction. He seems to outdo himself every time.” Brad Dourif, the original voice actor of Chucky, is also confirmed to take part in the eight-part hour-long series.

Surprisingly, the end of the show will not mean the franchise is complete, as they plan to roll-out more digital films. Let us know in the comments what you think of this series coming out.
