Disney Explains Why Marvel is Taking Over X-Men & Deadpool Film Franchise

X-Men heads to Marvel Studios

Last week, Bog Iger sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss Disney’s upcoming streaming service and a slowing down on releasing so many Star Wars movies.

While the Lucasfilm legacy can never be affected, the Disney CEO touched on the recent acquisition of 21st Century FOX and the properties of X-Men. The biggest question fans have been asking regarding Professor X’s series, was who would take control of the franchise.

Well, Iger confirmed that Kevin Feige of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will oversee all characters from X-Men, the Fantastic Four and Deadpool. He went to say, “I think it only makes sense. I want to be careful here because of what’s been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn’t be two Marvels.”

Considering the F4 is getting a proper reboot, along with X-Men’s pending expansion, let us know in the comments what you think of this news.
