ESPN Planning Streaming Package Soon

As a plethora of channels are moving towards providing standalone packages for cord cutters, ESPN seems to be moving in that direction as well. The only downside? It won’t include NBA, NFL, or big league content on it. The “package of live programming” will include niche programming and college sports as its draw.

Obviously, the cable company has spent billions to acquire rights and air them live on TV with new deals recently, so they can’t change that until those contracts are over.

The Disney company is however, moving into the online streaming side of things, already offering the channel to streaming platforms like SLING TV and Playstation VUE.

As much as it sounds like ESPN is testing the waters concerning their programming packages, it might be a foreshadowing of what they play to do in the future.
