Ice vs. Fire
This afternoon, HBO held a held a Facebook Live event, to finally announce when Game of Thrones will return. With filming, still in process, the premium network confirmed that the first half of Game of Thrones season seven will officially premiere on July 16th.
Last season, we were met with the major cliff-hangers of Jon Snow being crowned the King of the North, Cersei Lannister assuming the Iron Throne, Arya Stark planning a return to Winterfell; and most importantly – Daenerys Targaryen finally heading to Westeros.
As you can see above, with the new teaser of fire dragons battling ice, this is a possible hint at where the story line progresses (see: Army of the Dead). The series is set to have just 15 episodes left, which seven longer shows will begin to air this summer. Unlike previous years, look for HBO to aggressively get through chapters, leading up to its final season.
