Suicide Squad 2. .
With Warner Bros. shutting down the DC Extended Film Universe for the time being, the movie division has shared some major news this week. According to Variety, Idris Elba has signed on officially join the DC Film Universe. The London actor is set to replace Will Smith as Deadshot in Suicide Squad 2. James Gun, who was fired last year from Marvel Comics, is set to write and direct the upcoming sequel, which is set for an August 6, 2021 release date.
The original Suicide Squad film grossed $746 million worldwide. Look for more details in the coming months on the film to emerge – including who’ll be returning (see: Margot Robbie).
