VR is invading IMAX later this year!

At last, virtual reality is finally heading to theaters, with IMAX wanting to spray their images all over your faces – through headsets of course. According to The Wallstreet Journal, the theater chain is planning to build areas for virtual reality projects that would pair with blockbuster releases.

Currently, Google is teaming up with IMAX to create better 360 degree cameras for movie studios to properly ready content. The inaugural 10-minute experiences are reportedly set to cost an extra $10 bucks (in addtion to your movie ticket), as consumers who don’t want to invest in an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive will be able to enjoy the affordable experience in the coming months.

Before 2017, IMAX also plans to open six VR locations, with the first launching soon in Los Angeles. Let us know in the comments if you want VR coming to IMAX theaters next year (this means you DC and Marvel lovers) or is the movie industry stepping way too left field.
