JAY-Z Explains His Issues with the Government on CNN

JAY Z x The Van Jones Show

Saturday evening, JAY-Z made a rare stop by CNN to have a sit-down conversation on The Van Jones Show. With the iconic music mogul gearing up for tomorrow’s 60th GRAMMYs in his hometown of New York City, Mr. Carter wanted to address a few things going on in the states.

Jay touched on racism in America and cited how Trump’s recent backlash for his “shithole” comments, is essentially bug spray for those in power to still talk behind closed doors.

Regarding Donald’s claims of unemployment dropping for black people in the states, he cited that making more money didn’t equate to happiness. He explained how many middle class people have traditionally voted Democrat over the years and didn’t have their needs completely addressed.

President Carter closed out the conversatoin saying, “My problem with government is, I think they forget that it’s real people behind these decisions that they’re making. We’re, like, people going through real things in real time and in real pain. And when you ignore that pain for so long, people — they will act out, and it’s like, ‘I want to see something different’. And that opens the door to what we’re living through now. Politics has become about votes and not about people.”
