New York-based Sovereign Brands has announced today that they have sold their stake in the company to JAY Z, who put the company on the map. The Champagne label, better known as Ace of Spades because of its gold-spade bottle, did not disclose the terms of the deal as of press time. As most Hov fans would know, he debuted the champagne in his “Show Me What You Got” video after boycotting Cristal, when they wanted to distance themselves from hip-hop.
“We are proud to announce that Sovereign Brands, a New York-based wine and spirits company owned by the Berish family, has sold its interest in the Armand de Brignac Champagne brand to a new company led by the globally renowned Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter.”
