We’ve already seen John Legend get his feet wet on the television side of things with the WGN series Underground, but he’s already looking at the future with a new show.
Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co and actress Tika Sumpter will executive produce Black Wall Street, a series that will center around the development of the black middle class in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 20th century. It will also tell the story of 1921 Tulsa race riot that was devastating to the community.
Black Wall Street will premiere in 2018 if it gets picked up by the network.
