2011 novel ‘De Heineken Ontvoering’ finally comes to life
Swedish director, Daniel Alfredson (see: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is readying his next theatrical project with the upcoming release of Kidnapping Freddy Heineken. Based on a true story, the new Belgium-based action and crime drama, centers on the 1980s controversial kidnapping of Alfred “Freddy” Heineken.
Now nearly 30 years later, its being brought to life on the big screen for the first time, to reveal one of the biggest ransom acts for one person ever – nearly $35 million. With legendary actor Anthony Hopkins starring as the late kidnapped victim Freddy Heineken, we find out exactly how he was being targeted of an execution and the results of those involved with the big plot.
Also starring Sam Worthington, Jim Sturgess, Ryan Kwanteen and Thomas Cocquerel; look for this film to invade box offices on March 6th.
