After plenty of speculation, it is official. LeBron James will be starring the Space Jam sequel. His company Springhill Entertainment will connect with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler to produce the film, which has been in talks for years.
As LBJ told The Hollywood Reporter, the Space Jam sequel will be more than just Looney Tunes and basketball.
“It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”

Coogler has garnered success in previous years thanks to movies like Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther, all which star Michael B. Jordan.
