In a recent poll done by Sight & Sound, they asked some of the most famous film directors of all-time what their favorite movies were. The list of directors alone could be made into a Top-10, just based on their own work.

Included in the poll were Quentin Tarantino, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, David O. Russell, Michael Mann, Guillermo Del Toro and many more. As you can imagine, the lists were very unique and the number of classic films is high. Films such as Citizen Kane and Goodfellas are seen on a number of the director’s lists. Tarantino’s list may have been the most interesting, as he had wild card films such as cult classic Dazed & Confused and Bad News Bears in his picks.

That is the beauty of their lists, is the fact it’s all personal preference. Seeing what types of films the directors personally like opens up a door to their minds and the process that they go into while making a film. Pretty rare.
