Life Partners
Very few films cater specifically to LGBT community in the mainstream. Luckily for that audience and all others, we’re treated to a quality film tonight entitled Life Partners. Starring Gillian Jacobs and Leighton Meester, Susanna Fogel’s newly released comedy film was one of the standout features nearly a year ago the Tribeca Film Festival – receiving Spotlight section honors. Following its quiet rollout to on-demand last month, the Life Partners sees its long-awaited theatrical release. Sasha (Meester) and Paige (Jacobs) are lifetime friends, who live two different lifestyles and unfortunately see their lives changed by a young doctor.
Paige soon falls in love with Dr. Tim, while Sasha is still trying to cope from losing time with her best friend. While the storyline may not seem like a film you would take time to watch in theaters; judging by its cast of familiar faces and being a rom-com, many movie goers will be giving this gem a second glance this weekend.
