Mad Max: Fury Road
30 years in the making, fans of the original Mad Max franchise are finally granted the long-awaited reboot, Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by George Miller, the Australian post-apocalyptic action title is one of the standout films releasing not only this season – but the entire year. Mel Gibson didn’t return to the series, but we see the likes of Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough and Zoë Kravitz all featured in the reboot. Originally premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, the Australian post-apocalyptic action film sees Max picking right up where he left off to restore human order alongside Furiosa, who also has plans of her own. So far, the film has been met with critical-acclaim, seeing some of the highest ratings from reviewers and casual movie goers among the highest films of the year. So, we’d recommend you get out this weekend and see, since there’s no games on Saturday afternoon.
