October films continue with less thrills but more quality releases
Welcome to the second weekend October film releases in 2014. Last week, Ben Affleck’s Gone Girl scored big with a $38 million opening outing, and Annabelle directly behind at $37.2 million. Although we would like to see the horror genre dominate the spookiest month of the year, it was nice to see Annabelle receiving a surprise response. In comparison to last week’s thriller takeover, we have more balance in movie releases this weekend.
