Lost River
Ryan Gosling is set to finally have his directorial debut, Lost River in theaters this month. Almost an entire year removed from its original Cannes Film Festival premiere last May, the fantasy-neo-noir film starring Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendes makes its way to the masses.
With Warner Bros. distributing the project and the people involved has to have some movie goers somewhat intrigued for project that we’ve seen little to no promotional efforts for. Facing economic difficulties, a single mother enters a unorthodox lifestyle, leaving her in a dark underworld. With his mother absence, her eldest son must take care of his younger brother, but comes across a town’s feared bully that changes the course of his path.
Trying to help his mother financially, the teen soon finds a unknown road, which leads to a secret underwater utopia. Whether or not the underworld town is something the less fortunate family wants to endure, we’re intrigued to give this one a second look – at least sometime throughout the month.
