Movies To Watch This Weekend (April 29, 2016)

Papa: Hemingway in Cuba

It’s very rare that we see films shot in Havana, Cuba during this day-in-age; but luckily, an autobiographical tale of journalist Ernest Hemingway is being presented to the masses. The Canadian-American biographical tale, focuses on Hemingway’s life during the 1950s in Havana and how he developed a life-long bond with Denne Bart Petitclerc during the Cuban Revolution.

Surprisingly, the film has received the most acclaim amongst its completion this weekend, but we’re still unsure if it’ll be able to persuade casual movie goers to give it a second look – given the lack of standout names and promotions. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this spring gem.
