What If
Formerly known as The F Word, What If finally sees its long-awaited stateside release. Nearly a year following its original world premiere at the fall 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, the Irish-Canadian romantic comedy has went on to receive nominations for best picture at the Canadian Screen Awards and even won for Adapted Screenplay. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, Megan Park and Adam Driver the film’s premise is pretty relatable for those living the single-lifestyle in their early 20s.
Medical school dropout, Wallace (Radcliffe) is witnessing his closest friends all find the perfect partner and puts his love live on hold after being burned too many times in bad relationships. That’s until he crosses paths with a currently taken Chantry (Kazan), and the two instantly develop an intellectual connection.
Although the two are playful and become best friends, Wallace soon realizes his significant other may indeed by Chantry. Whether Wallace is able to woo her away from her long-time boyfriend who’s not appreciative of her presence remains to be seen, but What If is receiving nearly flawless reviews. If you’re a fan of rom-com’s, this is definitely a must-see movie this weekend.
