The Loft
Erik Van Looy’s American-Belgian thriller film, The Loft, has been receiving a surprise buzz surrounding its release. With Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures both opting to not distribute the project, Open Road Films has taken over the role for its roll-out this weekend. The film centers on five men, who own an upmarket loft to share time with their respective mistresses. One weekend, the secret location becomes the scene a murder, when a woman is found in the loft and the person who committed the crime is nowhere to be found. The five men soon begin to suspect each other the murder, which they all known one of them is the only ones to have keys to the disclosed location. We’re curious how both major movie studios passed up on an intriguing storyline like this one; but we’ll find out if the outcome and execution is what we’re hoping for in a lost gem this month.
