The Stanford Prison Experiment
Based on a true story, The Stanford Prison Experiment seems to be one of the more intriguing movie affairs for theatrical attendees this weekend. Starring Billy Crudup, Ezra Miller, Olivia Thirlby, Nelsan Ellis, Ki Hong Lee, Tye Sheridan, Michael Angarano, Jack Kilmer and Nicholas Braun, the new drama-thriller focuses on a prison psychological experiment. Stanford University psychology professor Philip Zimbardo creates a simulated prison of twenty-four male students that take up assigned roles of prisoners and guards.
The basement of the Stanford psychology building is home twenty-four students taking the roles of prisoners and prison guards. The Zimbardo experiment becomes a little too much for some, who end their experience in the underworld after only a few hours – which is expected to last up to an entire two weeks.
The two-hour presentation from IFC Films premiered last January at the Sundance Film Festival, which movie goers will get a look mock prison, which could even hold the recently escaped convict, El Chapo.
