Magic in the Moonlight
Legendary director, Woody Allen returns after the 2013 success of Blue Jasmine to captain his next theatrical release, Magic in the Moonlight. Starring Emma Stone, Colin Firth, and Hamish Linklater among others – the upcoming comedy film is set on the French Riviera during the 1920s. Firth plays the role a British stage musician and master illusionist by the name of Stanley who must unmask a possible swindle by the name of Sophie (Stone).
Upon finding out Sophie may be exploiting a rich family, complications from both personal and professional arise to make the situation even more awkward. Sony Pictures Classics is behind distribution for the film, but we’ve seen little to no promotional efforts for the campaign. While we’re reserving judgment until the masses get a chance to see the rom-com this weekend, hopefully one of Emma’s better acting gigs doesn’t get overlooked.
