Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
Since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last January, we’ve been patiently waiting for Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. The inspirational comedy-drama starring Thomas Mann, Olivia Cooke, Ronald Cyler II, Jon Bernthal, and Nick Offerman was luckily picked up by Fox Searchlight Pictures, for some type of proper promotions this summer.
The high school-based motion picture, centers on three Pittsburgh friends, one of which named Rachel is dying from leukemia. Her two best friends, Greg and Earl tend to make low-budget films in their free time and decide to make a film for Rachel as a surprise. While the plot may seem cliché, there’s enough teen drama throughout the 100-minute motion picture, which Greg looks to help his recently diagnosed friend. This is for certain one under-the-radar gem releasing not only this week, but entire summer – just ask the critics before you watch.
