The Cobbler
Last September at the Toronto International Film Festival, Adam Sandler presented attendees with his magic realism comedy-drama film, The Cobbler. Joined by Dan Stevens, Dustin Hoffman, Method Man, Steve Buscemi and our girl Melonie Diaz – Sandler assumes the role of Max Simkin, who is a NYC shoe repairman. The family business has been passed down to him from generations, but Max uncovers a rare magical secret of becoming anybody when stepping into their shoes. While the plot seems somewhat interesting, we’re fearful for another lackluster performance from our good play Adam Sandler at the box offices this weekend. So far, movie goers have either loved the film or really hated it, but you can judge tonight.
