The Hollars
Last January at the Sundance Film Festival, movie goers were presented with comedy-drama film, The Hollars. Luckily, Sony Pictures Classics has picked the project up for a national roll-out, which stars John Krasinski, Sharlto Copley, Charlie Day, Richard Jenkins, Anna Kendrick and Margo Martindale. The film centers on a man by the name of John Hollar, who’s a struggling NYC graphic novelist and is forced to return home when his mother Sally is diagnosed with a brain tumor.
While he’s initially taken back by the situation, including all of the problems emerging from his dysfunctional family, he finds enjoyment at the expense of some life-changing situations. With a high school rival and a disgruntled ex-girlfriend looming, John’s time with his mother could be the least of his worries in life. He also has a girlfriend back home in the city, who’s expecting their first child and a potential lifetime commitment that he has to decide on.
Featuring a notable cast and respectable company behind it, we’re sure a few people will give this one a second glance at the box office when taking a look at what’s hitting the local cinemas
