When you think of your TV-viewing habits, chances are Netflix fits somewhere in the equation. The streaming giant offers a wide variety of original programming, classic TV, documentaries, movies, award-winning titles and more.
According to research of by investment firm Cowen & Co., basic cable is now trailing Netflix as people’s preferred way of watching television and by a bigger margin when you take into account the younger demographic watching on mobile devices.

Overall, YouTube comes in fourth as broadcast television still holds strong, though among the 18-34 respondents, broadcast took a significant plunge and YT rose to the No. 2 spot.
It’ll be interesting to see how networks adjust for the future, especially as basic cable and broadcast views continue waning.
