Netflix Is Raising Its Subscription Prices

Just when you’re about to re-subscribe and hibernate for the winter shows and movies, Netflix decides to raise its prices (funny, that).

The standard service, which allows HD on two screens, now has a monthly price of $10.99, which has increased $1 from $9.99. The premium service, which allows four screens and ultra HD, is now $13.99, up $2 from $11.99. However, if the basic service, which allows streaming on one screen without HD, is your thing, you’ll still be able to get that for $7.99.

The price change becomes effective for new members starting today, but if you’re already a subscriber, Netflix will provide 30 days notice from October 19th. This is the first price increase in two years.
