Nicki Minaj dazzles in the April issue of Nylon

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Nicki Minaj in-front of a lenses; but after celebrating her 50 million follower count on Instagram last week, we were anticipating another slew of seductiveness.

Luckily, the Queens rapper has returned to provide eye candy in the new April issue of Nylon Magazine. After releasing her last album, The Pinkprint in 2014, the world of Nicki flipped upside down during a peak success period. Following a long-time relationship coming to an end and sparking up a new one soon after, Onika explained how she spent most of 2015 climbing out of an emotionally unstable mindset and how Meek Mill has helped re-build her confidence.

As she prepares for her next theatrical invasion with the upcoming summer comedy Barbershop: The Next Cut, you can take a look at Ms. Minaj explaining why she’s taking time this year in releasing a new project and the entire collection of stimulation pictures below.

On building a friendship with Meek Mill before a relationship.
“When he and I were just friends, he would always say, ‘You remind me of my mother, and I like that because you’re like a dude. You’re tough like a guy and you talk like a dude.’ So I always got the sense that me being tough and bossy was a turn-on for him. And it’s important for me to keep my voice. Being in a relationship shouldn’t mean that you lose your voice. Being in a relationship should mean that you’ve met a secure-enough man to allow you to remain a queen.”

On why she’s in no rush to release new material.
“I needed time to hear myself think again, because where I left off with The Pinkprint was a little bit emotionally unstable. I wanted to take a moment to just live my life, enjoy my life, have fun, go out. I think that’s very important before you start writing again. It’s a spiritual experience for the people who are hearing the music, so I’m trying to be very careful of what mental space I’m in while I’m creating it. Now, I want my happiness to be reflected in the new stuff.”

NYLON’s April issue hits newsstands March 29th!
