One of our favorite shows at the moment, HBO’s The Night Of, might get an extended stay at the cable network. It turns out the lowkey crime drama hit might get a second season from the producers, when it was only supposed to be a limited series with eight episodes.
During the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles this weekend, writer/director Steve Zaillian hinted at where the show may go moving forward.
“This was designed as a standalone piece. That being said, there are ways of certainly taking what it’s about and doing another season on another subject. We’re talking about it.”
If you still haven’t watched the series, the third episode aired last night and it follows the trial of Nasir “Naz” Khan, who was accused of murder. You’ll have to watch Sundays at 9pm EST on HBO to see if he committed the crime and/or what happens to him, with only five episodes left.
