It’s not often we get HBO mini-series, but the last one seemed to have worked and was nominated for numerous awards. Could the cable network strike gold with The Night Of?
As you can see from the trailer, the crime drama is based on young man from Queens that comes from a Muslim family and is accused of committing a murder. The problem is, he doesn’t remember ever doing it. As a result, he finds himself entangled in the web of New York City’s criminal justice system with an incompetent lawyer that who might not know what he is doing.
Amazingly, Michael K. Williams makes a cameo in the clip, so we’re curious to see what role he plays in the show.
There will be eight episodes and it based on the BBC mini series titled Criminal Justice, which was written by Richard Price of The Wire fame. You can expect the premiere to hit HBO July 10.
