SMASH Or TRASH: Making A “Goonies” Sequel

the-goonies-post

Apparently Hollywood is trying to ruin our childhood one sequel at a time. The latest comes from Richard Donner, who directed the 80’s classic, The Goonies, releaving that a sequel is in full development and that he wants the entire original cast to return. If we were forced into a new Goonies film, we suppose a sequel is better than an all-out remake, but it doesn’t seem like either are needed in this case. For starters, the original came out in 1985, which was a completely different age in the film industry. Though it is a classic film, we’re not sure how it would translate to theaters now.

With Hollywood already gun-ho with the Point Break remake, we can’t say we are surprised that this is happening. What will this sequel entail if the original cast is back? Does this mean that Cory Feldman is about to make his grand return to Hollywood? We will just have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on this? Should they be making a Goonies sequel in 2014? Let us know after the jump!
