The post Seth Meyers SNL era has been a hit or miss so far. Recently appointed head writer and co-anchor of Weekend Update, Colin Jost is still getting his feet wet now in the bright lights as captain of the squad. GIRLS creator, Lena Dunham made her SNL hosting debut last night and one of the standout sketches was spoof of ABC’s political thriller, Scandal.
Not too far removed from Kerry Washington’s SNL episode (star of Scandal), the cast decided to do a re-enactment of the shows dramatic tone of handling impossible tasks in a matter of seconds. Lena plays the role of Kelsie, who is charming newcomer to Olivia Pope & Associates and has no clue what’s going on in the semi-monotone environment. Kelsie brings comedic relief to the Scandal and is in awe of how fast her team is in traveling and finishing tasks.
