Venom coming in 2018!
With Peter Parker set to see his formal introduction into Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony is aggressively going forward with the long-awaited Venom project. The official Spider-Man spin-off has been granted an official theatrical release date of October 5, 2018.
However, at the moment, the Venom film has no director; but the director of 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has submitted an early script draft. Since being introduced nearly 30 years ago, Venom has been one of the most beloved villains in the Spider-Man Universe, as film distributor Sony is looking to launch a new franchise with this release. Look for an end-of-the-year teaser to arrive.
Just don’t hold your breath for anything at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
