2015’s Mean Girls? Meet the DUFF!
This spring, CBS Films will be releasing the much-anticipated adaption of the YA bestseller, The Duff. The $9.5 million project is being dubbed by some as the 2015 Mean Girls, which already has us intrigued to monitor Susan Cartsonis and Mary Viola’s produced film adaption. The teen drama-comedy centers on a high school senior who finds out she’s been labeled as the pretty girl’s DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend).
Determined to no longer be viewed as the title, she soon wants to become the datable and popular girl in school with the help of one of her friends on the football team. That ploy soon turns into a real relationship, when she has her fashion and makeover transformation.
Look for The Duff in theaters this February 20, 2015, starring Bella Thorne, Mae Whitman, Bianca A. Santos, Skyler Samuels, Robbie Amell, Nick Eversman, Allison Janney and Community’s Ken Jeong
