2014 saw possibly one of the best science fiction films in the past few years, with the critically acclaimed movie, Interstellar from director Christopher Nolan. One of the most anticipated movies this year looks to be the Ridley Scott helmed film The Martian.
Starring Matt Damon and based on the best selling novel of the same name by Andy Weir, The Martin follows Astronaut Mark Watney, who is manning a mission to Mars, but after a fierce storm he is left behind by his crew and presumed dead. Without knowledge, they don’t know that Watney survived. While stranded all alone on the planet, Watney must do everything he can to survive on the limited supplies he has and use his ingenuity, wit and spirit at an attempt to make a connection with Earth and signal that he is alive.
Among Matt Damon, the likes of Jessica Chastain, Kata Mara, Michael Peña, Kristen Wiig and Jeff Daniels also star and provide supporting roles in the upcoming film.
The film is set to hit theaters on November 25th.
