Watch A Trailer for CBS’s New Series “Supergirl”

Melissa Benoist is officially in the DC Universe as Supergirl!

Yesterday, CBS held their upfront event to reveal shows from their upcoming fall 2015-2016 season. While we’re still annoyed Stalker was cancelled, one show we can expect to have viewership security for an immediate renewal, is Supergirl. The DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television TV series is set to premiere sometime in November, as we finally get a first official look at Melissa Benoist in action as Kara Zor-El / Kara Danvers.

In a nut-shell, the series centers on a Kara Zor-El, a 24-year-old woman in GOTHAM, who unravels an unexpected disaster and must use her obvious super powers to fight for the good of humanity. After suffering an experience at the age of 12 when she had to be taken away from family and friends, young Kara has to use the powers the Danvers taught her and keep her family’s name alive. Unlike other shows of the DC Universe currently on TV, the Superman spin-off shows off a vulnerable Kara, which is as a surprise to us.

This should be something viewers not in the know of the character or brand can become accustomed to, when they see a relatable character like Kara this fall. Watch the 6-minute reel above of a brief introduction to the woman in the cape and look for imminent details to surface regarding its exact debut in November.
