Did you enjoy the first season of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead?
With season six of AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead nearing, we’ve been re-watching the first five seasons on Netflix, refreshing our minds with everything that’s went down so far. During our wait for the new season, we’ve also been heavily tuned into the spin-off series Fear The Walking Dead, which just wrapped up it’s first season last night. Going into the series, we knew that it would be following pretty much the same premise as The Walking Dead, but with a little more detail as to how everything started, much different from its sister series.
Being huge fans of The Walking Dead (like the entire country), we knew that we would be immediate fans of Fear The Walking Dead, and we were semi-right. Though it took some time to get into the full action we are used to seeing from TWD, AMC looks to have found their next hit series to have everyone tuned into, once the unfortunate end of the original series is set to happen. Hopefully that doesn’t come for at least another couple of seasons.

From the beginning episode to the season finale, Fear The Walking Dead was fairly an all around good show. There were some things missing that we hoped to see, like the collapse of humanity across the world and how it effected the government, civilization and communities. Though we did get a brief glimpse of that, it wasn’t to the extent we were hoping, as it sort of dove right into a variety of incidents that taking place throughout Downtown Los Angeles.
Following up such a well loved cast such as the ones from The Walking Dead, getting used to seeing a zombie outbreak show revolving around a new set of characters was a bit challenging, especially with them being a bit dull and boring throughout the series. While there were certain moments that did make the show worth watching, there were also times where we couldn’t wait for the next scene with hopes of something more exciting to happen.

Based on everything that’s happened so far and so fast, it looks as though we have the same show on our hands as The Walking Dead. This leads us to believe that the story will just follow a group of survivors making their way from place to place and having their close run-ins with zombies and other groups who are fighting to make it.
With a season two already guaranteed and 15 new episodes coming our way next year, we hope for things to possibly pick up where every scene draws us in and brings more excitement, drama and fear, because at this point there isn’t much of that for a show with fear in the title. All in all, we enjoyed the show, but are hoping for some improvements within the next season.

Was the first season enough for you to anticipate the round two next year? Let us know in the comments section below.
