We play it, we share it, we demand it, and more than anything, we live for it. Music is one of the greatest forms of expression (the greatest in my opinion), but how many of us stop to absorb the process behind the creation itself? Lucky for us, the Red Bull Music Academy enrolled director Ralf Schmerberg to examine just that.
Filmed at the 2013 Red Bull Academy in honor of their 15th anniversay, What Difference Does It Make: A Film About Making Music delivers on all fronts by including the likes of Erykah Badu, Just Blaze, Nile Rodgers, Rakim, Q-Tip, and several other non-hip-hop artists. The in-depth look provides a unique perspective from those that were attending the event, while capturing the essence of not only the undertaking involved in producing music, but the way it effects everyday life.
After debuting at the beginning of the week in more than 60 cities that span across the sphere, the Schmerberg-directed doc is now available in full for free, thanks to the Red Bull Music Academy.
