The 2016 edition of the Billboard Music Awards was held last night, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. As always, the show aired live on ABC network and Ludacris returned as this year’s host along with Ciara. The talk of the night was of course, The Weekend who lead with 20 nominations and took home 8 of those awards. Adele walked away with five of her own.
On the night a total of 24 artists touched the stage to perform during the star-studded event and included a show stopping greatest hits medley from Britney Spears who opened the show and was recognized by receiving the Billboard Millennium Award. Also performing was Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Madonna and Stevie Wonder, closing closed out the show with a tribute to Prince, performing “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain.”
