RIP Phife Dawg!
Over the summer, L.A. Reid sparked up conversation regarding a new album from A Tribe Called Quest. The 718-based duo had tossed the idea of a new project since the release of their 1998 LP, The Love Movement, but have now confirmed a new and final album is on the way.
Although it doesn’t have an official name, Q-Tip took to social media to confirm that he and his brothers Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad were working on material last November. However, with the unfortunate passing of Phife last spring, those plans were put on indefinite hold.
Now, the remaining members of the group plan to bless the public with the brief reunion of their studio sessions from last year. Luckily, the sessions were completed with the help of affiliates Busta Rhymes and Consequence, as Abstract gives a full explanation on the upcoming project below.
