This is why ‘25’ still isn’t on streaming services!
One of the biggest music mysteries this fall, has been the real reason why Adele chose not to have her recently released 25 album on streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
In a new interview with TIME Magazine, the London singer soon shared her passion for music from not only herself, but a variety of artists that she still likes to physically consume music from.
Speaking of which, she spoke out for the first time ever about her decision to not allow streaming for her new project, which has surpassed 5 million sales worldwide. The UK singer went to say,
“I believe music should be an event. For me, all albums that come out, I’m excited about leading up to release day. I don’t use streaming. I buy my music. I download it, and I buy a physical [copy] just to make up for the fact that someone else somewhere isn’t. It’s a bit disposable, streaming. I know that streaming music is the future, but it’s not the only way to consume music,” she said. I can’t pledge allegiance to something that I don’t know how I feel about yet.”
Her bold move, was in follow-up to Taylor Swift’s #NewRules set in 2014 of not initially allowing her 1989 album on both previous mentioned streaming platforms – due to lack of proper artist compensation. Take a look at the magazine cover below, out on newsstands everywhere now.
