Good news Apple Music subscribers. You no longer need the app or iTunes installed on any device moving forward, if you want to listen to music from your library.
As of today, the company is expanding its reach and releasing a web interface that will let fans stream through a browser and sign up for Apple Music directly from the web.
If you want to try it, hit up: beta.music.apple.com
As far as look or function, the interface looks just like the app that Apple is launching on macOS Catalina this year, with the exception that it runs inside Google Chrome, Firefox and Windows 10, Chrome OS or Android. You will be able to access your entire library and the whole Apple Music catalog, as well as playlists, radio stations and “For You” areas in the regular app will also be available.
The only thing missing for now will be Beats 1, some music videos and a few smart playlists here and there.
Apple has chose to move in this direction in order to offer it to other platforms without building a custom app for each (see: Linux, Chrome OS, etc.) and ultimately compete with Spotify.
For those who are Spotify subscribers, you would know you have been able to login through a browser and listen for quite a while.
