Pharrell‘s ARTST TLK series is one of the more interesting interview segments that we see around these parts and for the seventh episode, he sat down with legendary ’80s producer Daniel Lanois. Knowing P, you should know he picked apart his brain and got insight on how he went from a small town in Canada to working with U2, Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan, Rick James, Neil Young and more. Musically, Dan broke down how different spaces projected sound when you recorded in them, as well as learning from legends.
Rolling Stone actually called Dan “the most important record producer to emerge from the ’80s,” so Pharrell was soaking up so much game through their 45-minute talk. Especially the moment when he showed him around the equipment in the studio.
