When Beyoncé announced that she was expecting twins, fans questioned whether or not she would even make it to Coachella with a belly full of babies. All seemed to be going as planned, until today, when the Queen announced that she would be performing. As consolation, she will headline the festival in 2018.
Parkwood Entertainment and Goldenvoice issue a statement to AP about the news:
“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”
A headline replacement has not been announced as of yet.
Though she’s missing her first time as a headliner, the Indio, California festival also boasts acts Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar as this year’s big draws.
