Big K.R.I.T. is the latest artist to take part in NPR Music’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series, and performances don’t get much soulful than this.
For it, the Mississippi rapper performed three songs from disc two of last year’s 4eva Is a Mighty Long Time album: “Mixed Messages,” “Keep the Devil Off” and “Bury Me in Gold.” K.R.I.T.’s voice was powerful as always, but the most memorable moment has to be when he pulled out an old-school tape recorder that his grandmother would use to record him singing and reciting poetry as a child.
A blast from the past and a fitting tribute.
